I have taught you the very basics of minecraft, and now I assume that you can figure things out for yourself. I will keep you updated on mods and texture packs I think are sick, I will also issue video tutorials on building things in minecraft. If you give me suggestions I can Give you videos :)
What is a texture pack? A texture pack is the very graphics of the game. Here are my favorites:

Minecraft: Lets grow some Wheat!
In my previous post I showed you how to make basic food in Minecraft. If you looked at the chart you are probably wondering; How do I make a pumpkin pie? Or How do I make a baked potato? These recipes are very difficult to craft right now so lets stick to the basics. These include Bread, Fish, and cookies. If you have all the ingredients (Doubtful) you could even bake a cake. If you have an extra nine iron ingots laying around, great. Make some buckets. Buckets are made like this, However to make a cake you will also need sugar wheat and an egg. TOO MANY INGREDIENTS!!! Let's skip the cake right now and make a farm. you will need to make a hoe, and harvest seeds by punching grass. A hoe is made like this. Once done go to a nearby water source and right click the dirt you want plant seeds on with the hoe you just crafted. It will probably look like this:
I suggest you now go back to your home and lay low for the night.....OR if you are feeling adventurous kick some zombie posterior! When you kill skeletons they drop bones which you can turn into bone meal to make crops instantly grow, just place it inside your workbench and take out the finished product. Once our wheat is fully grown you can make one or all of the following: Bread, Fish, Cake, or Cookies. Of course for cookies you would have to be located close to a jungle so you can collect coco beans. For fish you need to craft a fishing-pole like this and put the fish in a furnace before consumption. I suggest you now take arms and kill the crap out of Enderman :)

Minecraft: Day Two
So congratulations, day one complete! The first day is especially horrible for everyone. The first time I played I had no idea what I was doing so I died every five to ten minutes, Partly because I also had no clue that if you do not have Snack breaks in Minecraft you die from starvation. After a day of not eating in Minecraft your avatar is probably very hungry. Here are some suggestions of what you can eat in a chart i made:
The little meat pops are locted to the left of your action bar. When a meat pop is missing, your avatar is hungry. If more than one is missing, your avatar's health cannot be restored. Once ALL of them are missing you slowly die. Assuming you are in a forest biome here is what you can get and where to get it your second day:
1. Apples- They occasionally fall out of trees (Duh)
2. Chicken- from killing chickens
3. Porkchop- from killing pigs
4. Steak- from killing cows
But before eating chicken, steak, and Porkchops you have to cook them first. Raw chicken is poisinous and you get a whole lot more meat pops from cooked food opposed to raw food. in order to do this you will need to make a furnace and some tools for later (Here is when your pickaxe comes in handy :p ). You need to mine 13 stone (the gray blocks) in order to make tools and a furnace. Once you mined the stone with your pickaxe here is how you make the stuffs (I suggest you make all of it.): Stone Sword, Furnace, Stone Pickaxe. Once the tools and furnace are made your little pixelated world probaly looks something like this:
Once you have your furnace you simply place wood or coal in the bottom and food in the top, if you found iron you can cook that in the furnace too. Eat up and enjoy!

Minecraft: Day One
Now that you have listened to all of that boring chatter let's kick some booty! Okay so you just created your world. You are in one of four different biomes; Desert, Jungle, Snow, or Forest. If you end up in a jungle biome (Which looks something like this) I would suggest that you just delete the world and make a new one since from personal experience I find them the hardest to navigate out of all the biomes. I am assuming you end up in a forest biome (This). The first day in Minecraft is generally the hardest one if you are un-prepared and do not know what to do. Here is my strategy:
1. Mine ten blocks of wood (If you forgot how, revert back to my previous article.)
2. In your inventory (E) next to the portrait of your character there are four item slots.
3. Click the wood in your inventory you just harvested and drop it into one of the four slots.
4. Click the box right of the other boxes until there is nothing in them.
5. Now put one wooden plank in each of the four boxes.
6. Take out your workbench.
7. Put the workbench in your Action bar and place it somewhere.
8. Open the workbench (Right Click) and put one wooden plank on top of the other.
9. Take the sticks, and make a pickaxe like this:
After the pickaxe is made destroy the workbench and take it with you.
After that try to find a hidey-hole. This is just a little cave in the ground, if possible try to avoid the big ones. If you find coal or iron......mine it (With the pickaxe). We will use the iron later. Coal is useful for the first day because Monsters spawn at night. If you place torches they will not spawn within 4 blocks of the torch. This is what the ores of Minecraft look like (Coal, Iron, Redstone, Diamond, Gold, and Lapis-Lazuli, Below is also how to make a door:
A torch is made by putting a piece of coal on top of a stick inside of your workbench. go inside your hidey-hole, place the work bench, make a door (And put it in the entrance after walling yourself in), place torches, and wait till' day 2. :)

Minecraft: Controls/ What is a mob?
Walk forward: W
Walk left: A
Walk Right: D
Walk Backwards: S
Look around: Move Mouse
Mine and Fight: Left Click
Place Block/use items: Right Click
Drop item: Q
Inventory: E
Simple enough :) To mine something just hold down the left mouse button, to place a block or eat something or use a workbench etc. You just right click. Now that we are done with the essentially boring details here is a little guideline chart I made on not getting slaughtered the first time you play:
These are called Mobs. I have not included all of the mobs in Minecraft, but this is still pretty spot-on. Below is a list of all the mobs in the game:
Hostile= Zombie, Slime, Lava Slime, Blaze, Ghast. Creeper, Skeleton, Wither Skeleton, Spider, Cave Spider, Spider Jockey, Witch, silverfish, Wither, Ender Dragon
Neutral=Wolf, Zombie Pigman, Enderman
Passive=Cow, Mooshroom(These are very rare), Chicken, Pig, Bat, Ocelot/Cat, Sheep, Squid, Villager
There are also two mobs that you can create, Snow Golems and Iron Golems(Which kick righteous butt). We can worry about that later though.
Here is a link if you wish to learn more about mobs: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Mobs

Minecraft: Getting Started
Yay! Now that we are all downloaded I can give you my step-by-step tutorials on how to survive in Minecraft. once the Minecraft browser is opened up and you type your gibberish in the login (hehe :p) all you have to do is click "Play Offline." Once done Minecraft should launch. Once Minecraft is loaded click "Singleplayer" then "Create new world. " (Pretty easy right?) Give it whatever name you want and press the "Create new world button." Congratulations you have now been pixelated. Time to get Technical.
What is Minecraft?
Minecraft is a game where you place pixelated 8-bit blocks to build basic structures, shelters, or anything you can really think of. Is it free? Yes and No. To play in single-player mode Minecraft is 100% free. To play in Multiplayer mode you would need to create an account which costs around thirty dollars. The account is the only fee though :), Once the thirty dollars is paid no more fees! I suggest downloading the game and trying single-player mode to see if you like it or not before breaking out the piggy bank though. You can type any garbage you wish into the login to get started, but first you are probably wondering WHERE THE HECK DO I DOWNLOAD THIS WORLD OF 8-BIT HAVOC!? Here are the links:
To download Minecraft- https://minecraft.net/download
To purchase an account- https://account.mojang.com/register
(That is if you wish bust out the ceramic piggy.)
After the download you are all set :)

So you play games too
I am horrible at sophisticated games like "World of Warcraft" and "Counterstrike", But what I can teach you about is a more simplistic game.....Minecraft. The first time you play you will probably die a horribly pixelated death. I am here to Prevent that :)
