Now that you have listened to all of that boring chatter let's kick some booty! Okay so you just created your world. You are in one of four different biomes; Desert, Jungle, Snow, or Forest. If you end up in a jungle biome (Which looks something like this) I would suggest that you just delete the world and make a new one since from personal experience I find them the hardest to navigate out of all the biomes. I am assuming you end up in a forest biome (This). The first day in Minecraft is generally the hardest one if you are un-prepared and do not know what to do. Here is my strategy:
1. Mine ten blocks of wood (If you forgot how, revert back to my previous article.)
2. In your inventory (E) next to the portrait of your character there are four item slots.
3. Click the wood in your inventory you just harvested and drop it into one of the four slots.
4. Click the box right of the other boxes until there is nothing in them.
5. Now put one wooden plank in each of the four boxes.
6. Take out your workbench.
7. Put the workbench in your Action bar and place it somewhere.
8. Open the workbench (Right Click) and put one wooden plank on top of the other.
9. Take the sticks, and make a pickaxe like this:
After the pickaxe is made destroy the workbench and take it with you.
After that try to find a hidey-hole. This is just a little cave in the ground, if possible try to avoid the big ones. If you find coal or iron......mine it (With the pickaxe). We will use the iron later. Coal is useful for the first day because Monsters spawn at night. If you place torches they will not spawn within 4 blocks of the torch. This is what the ores of Minecraft look like (Coal, Iron, Redstone, Diamond, Gold, and Lapis-Lazuli, Below is also how to make a door:
A torch is made by putting a piece of coal on top of a stick inside of your workbench. go inside your hidey-hole, place the work bench, make a door (And put it in the entrance after walling yourself in), place torches, and wait till' day 2. :)
